Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who made her name with smart raps that addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a the most comical of perspectives. Then she branched out into Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was through the trumpet. Also, she received classical and jazz training later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She studied women's studies and journalism. In a short period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. The focus changed towards music after she completed her degree. Following her viral success on the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. The album also included songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in the year 2015, and was an additional idea. The singer decided to make acting careers following the completion of her previous two ventures as a musician and author. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored her first major role in a number of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
